Data sources

Every figure in a report traces back to one of these. Each report lists which of them answered, when, and with which list version.

EU consolidated financial sanctions list
European Commission, DG FISMA · refreshed every 6 hours
Persons, groups and entities subject to EU financial sanctions, including any wallet identifiers published in the identification records.
OFAC Specially Designated Nationals
US Department of the Treasury · refreshed every 6 hours
Consulted for correspondent exposure. OFAC publishes digital currency addresses directly in SDN entries.
Chainalysis sanctions oracle
Chainalysis, on-chain contract · refreshed per request
A free on-chain oracle queried directly over a public RPC. Applies to EVM addresses only.
Interim MiCA register

Authorised CASPs, ART and EMT issuers, and entities notified as operating without authorisation.

Transfers, balances and counterparty labels. The keyless tier caps how much history is retrieved per address.

When a source is unreachable

A screening never fails outright because one upstream is down. The affected check is recorded as unavailable rather than as a negative result, the report is marked degraded, and the provenance block at the foot of the report shows which source did not answer.

This distinction matters: “no match on a list we could read” and “we could not read the list” are different statements, and only the first one supports a decision to proceed.

Optional upgrades

The service runs entirely on the keyless sources above. Supplying an indexer API key deepens counterparty resolution and lifts the per-address transfer cap; it does not change the sanctions or register sources, which are free to read in every case.

  • A multichain data provider - richer labels and token-level flow.
  • A WalletConnect project id - mobile and hardware wallet verification.
FORCE mirrors these sources. Where a mirror and the publisher disagree, the publisher is authoritative. Links above go to the publisher, not to the mirror.
